School Supply Drive and year-round initiatives support employees and their families

Our mission to support Christwood is achieved in many ways. Purchasing assets, enhancing existing areas, creating new additions, and developing programming are all ways we use the funds from generous donors to support our community.

One thing we have heard many times from residents is a desire to support Christwood’s dedicated staff. Summer 2025 marked our second annual School Supply Drive where staff could sign up their children to receive many of the needed supplies for the upcoming school year. The price of supplies increases every year and can be a financial burden for many families. We are proud to have given 94 children backpacks filled with supplies last year — thanks to our donors.

In addition to the summer School Supply Drive, the Christwood Foundation maintains two funds that are active all year to support staff. The Employee Education Fund is available to all staff after one year of employment. We consider all accredited degrees/certifications. The second is an Emergency Assistance Fund that is available to employees after six months of employment. Applications for assistance from this fund are confidentially reviewed by a grant committee which can approve financial help to pay essential bills in a time of crisis. Both of these funds are very actively used and are exclusively funded through donations which may be made at any time.

These initiatives prove what we always say: Christwood is a family. We are thankful to have such considerate residents who enthusiastically support our staff through these funds.
