Art has the power to connect us with the world at large through shared emotions and experiences. At Christwood, we connect with the Covington community through art at the Atrium Gallery.

With a fireside lobby and café, the Atrium Gallery provides a welcoming space to view contemporary art from regional artists. We’ve hosted exhibitions by painters, sculptors, photographers, and mixed media artists. Exhibits are rotated throughout the year and open with a festive reception with live music and refreshments. Always free and open to the public, we invite you to stop by and see the latest exhibition.

The Atrium Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Ryan Perea and students from COLUMBIA STREET ACADEMY OF ART AND GALLERY

June 21 through August 28

On display is the work of the Columbia Street Academy and Gallery owner, Ryan Perea, and his students. The Columbia Street Academy and Gallery is located in downtown Covington.

Ryan Perea, the owner, received his classical training at Teaching Studios of Art, the Art Students League of New York, and the New Orleans of Fine Art. In his training, he grounded himself in rigorous technique which he shares with his students.

At the heart of the Academy is the teaching studio model. Students work on whatever they are drawn to under Ryan’s personal guidance. The wide range of his students’ interests is displayed in this exhibit. Ryan strives to offer his students the classical techniques that he learned while maintaining a relaxed and positive environment. The result is a studio that takes the craft seriously without taking itself too seriously — a place where people come to grow, to create, and genuinely to enjoy the process.
