February 12 through March 18

Nancy Hirsch Lassen is a mixed-media abstract artist living and working in New Orleans. She has been represented in a number of fine art galleries in New Orleans, including Degas Gallery, Sullivan Gallery, and currently Ariodante Gallery on Julia Street. She also participated in the show ‘ei8ht takes’ at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Art and the National Juried Show of the New Orleans Art Association. Her mixed-media works, many large-scale, are executed with bold brush strokes and a tendency toward warm colors. She has estimated she has completed over 800 paintings in her career.

“For the past two decades, I have felt compelled to paint nature and structures, the collision and/or the harmonious coexistence of the two. I love the soft curvilinear lines and ever-changing colors and shapes of nature. I am equally fascinated with the static linear industrial structures as they interrupt, collide, and transform the nature that surrounds them. The corruption of nature caused by industry makes me appreciate the composition created by the two.”
