L. Stephen Holzhalb, III D. Min.
Executive Officer
The Reverend L. Stephen Holzhalb, III, D. Min. has served as the Executive Officer of Christwood since January 2004. Previously the rector of the Episcopal Church that founded Christwood, he was the community’s first Board president. Stephen was also instrumental in the founding of Christ Episcopal School, a day school adjacent to Christwood’s campus and St. Michael’s Episcopal Church.

Iris Blundell
Chief Financial Officer
Iris oversees Christhood’s accounting, finance, and insurance requirements. She has 20 years of experience in public accounting, medical accounting, and senior living communities. Before joining Christwood, Iris was controller then managing director at a senior living facility serving both independent living and assisted living residents. She was also on the board of LeadingAge Gulf States division. Iris joined Christwood as the Director of Accounting when the community first opened its doors in 1996. She’s delighted to return as a member of the executive team. Iris holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Tami Perry, LPN
Chief Operating Officer
Tami joined Christwood in 1996 and has served in a variety of nursing leadership positions in our Health Center. Before being promoted to COO, Tami was the Residential Health Services Director, managing operations and staffing at the community’s assisted living residence. She’s also led the development, licensure, implementation, and management of Christwood’s Home and Community Based Services.

Elizabeth Jackson
Chief Marketing and Communications Officer
Elizabeth is responsible for marketing leadership and brand cohesiveness throughout the Christwood community. In addition, she is responsible for building, leading, and supporting Christwood’s marketing and sales department and each service line. Prior to joining Christwood in 2013, she was manager of sales and marketing for Coastal Cargo Co., Inc., a stevedoring firm located in New Orleans. Mrs. Jackson attended Berry College, Institute Catholique in France, and Loyola University City College in New Orleans.

Marty Dean, NFA
Health Care Administrator
Marty manages skilled nursing at Christwood. A licensed Nursing Facility Administrator (NFA), he joined Christwood in 2021. Previously, Marty worked in healthcare management in the psychiatric field and in skilled nursing. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Delta State University and two master’s degrees from Southeastern LA University, one in mental health counseling and another in business administration. Marty is also a licensed mental health and addiction counselor.

Randy Becnel
Wellness Director
Randy manages, develops, and implements wellness programs at the Community Center at Christwood for residents and members from the greater community. Previously, Randy served as wellness director at East Jefferson Hospital Wellness Center, leading operations, program development, and several disease management programs. He earned a bachelor’s degree in health and human science from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Jason Weilbaecher
Food & Beverage Director
Jason oversees Christwood’s dining operations, including three restaurants, seven dining rooms, catering and event services, as well as The Beehive Market convenience store. Jason joined the Christwood team in 2002, returning in 2007 after studying biomedical engineering at Louisiana Tech University. He later earned his degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and is a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator.

Ken Hamlin
Information Administration Director
Ken is responsible for Christwood’s information systems. Prior to joining Christwood, Ken spent 30 years in the energy industry implementing complex drilling systems around the world. Ken earned a bachelor’s degree in biology at Louisiana Tech University, a bachelor’s degree in earth science at the University of New Orleans, and a master’s degree in geology from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Jennifer S. Buchholz
Director of Christwood Companion Services
Jennifer is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the Companion Services division and is responsible for the licensure and oversight of all Christwood’s Home and Community Based Services. Jennifer graduated with a marketing degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and joined Christwood in 2015.

Greg Avila
Plant Operations Director
Greg joined Christwood in 2016 following a management career in the hospitality industry. He was the director of maintenance and head of security at The Clarion, The Bourbon Orleans, and The Maison Dupuy hotels in New Orleans. He’s been happily married to his wife, Dana, since 1997 and is also a “crowd favorite” at the annual Cook-Off for the Coast.

Amy Pinac-Wimberley, MBA
Foundation Executive Director
Amy works to fulfill the philanthropic goals of the Christwood Foundation. She partners with directors and donors to continuously support projects and programming that enhance the lives of residents and staff. She holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Louisiana State University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Prior to joining Christwood in 2020, Amy worked across the state as a political and non-profit fundraiser. She and her husband, Brock, live in New Orleans with their daughter and two dogs.

Margaret “Midge” Collett
Margaret has been vice president and chief compliance officer of St. Tammany Health System in Covington since 2005. Prior to that she was chief compliance officer and compliance officer/risk manager at St. Tammany Health System. She earned her Juris Doctor at Louisiana State University in 1994 and her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1982.
Steve “Skip” Scoggins
Skip was a Christwood Board Member from 2013 to 2022, serving as secretary and on the Executive Committee. The founder and president of Scoggin Properties, Skip is known for his innovative marketing strategies, leadership, and commitment to service excellence. He is an experienced and highly respected real estate broker, appraiser, and past president of the St. Tammany Association of REALTORS®.
Michael Cushman
Brigadier General Michael Cushman, USAF, Retired, currently serves as the Military Advisor to the 22nd Judicial District Court LA–Veterans Court, in addition to several allied programs and organizations in support of veterans in need. Prior to retirement, General Cushman served on the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) Senior Command supporting the development and execution of National Security Space programs and projects such as ALLIED FORCE, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and STRONG RESOLVE. He is married to the former Denise L. Davidson and resides in Mandeville, Louisiana
Timothy J. Cutt
Mr. Cutt is the executive chairman of the board for Gulfport Energy Corporation. He previously served as chief executive officer of QEP Resources and, prior to that, served as chief executive officer at Cobalt International Energy. Mr. Cutt also held several executive positions with BHP Billiton. He began his career with Mobil and worked for ExxonMobil for 24 years. He served as a board member of the American Petroleum Institute from 2013 to 2018.
John Graham
Mr. Graham was president, chief executive officer, and chairman of the board of Graham Resources, Inc., a private company engaged in acquisition and investment management of oil and gas production properties and oil service companies, from 1975 until the company’s sale to Prudential Insurance Company in 1994. Prior to entering the private business sector, he practiced law with Milling, Saul, Benson, Woodward and Hillyer. He has served on multiple civic and philanthropic committees, such as the Madison Society of the Library of Congress and Baptist Community Ministries in New Orleans, one of the largest grant makers in the region. Mr. Graham was also a former member of the board of Southern Baptist Hospital.
The Very Reverend Seth Donald
The The Very Reverend Seth Donald is the rector of Christ Church. He previously served as the 5th Rector of St. Michael and All Angels in Lake Charles. A native of Jennings, LA, he holds a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College, a Master of Business Administration from Centenary College, and a Master of Divinity from The University of the South. He is currently doing doctoral work at Fordham University with a special interest in Ignatian Spirituality. Before being called to ordained life, Donald had a business career with a Fortune 30 company. He enjoys any excuse to be outside — gardening, hiking, hunting, and fishing. Married to Amy Parratt Donald, they have three daughters: Mary Brooks, Eliza, and Mae, and a goldendoodle named Olive.
Gordon Atkins
Gordon has served on the Board of Directors for Vermillion, Inc. in Wichita, KS since 2014. His previous business experience was in the management of complex grocery distribution businesses. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas in 1990. Currently, Gordon is a volunteer with James Samaritan in Covington, helping to connect the community and church to create healthy support systems for kids and families in our foster care system.
Dr. Thom Franklin, MD
For more than three decades, Dr. Franklin has been a dedicated friend of Christwood and a highly skilled physician specializing in internal medicine and geriatrics. He served on the original Christwood Board of Directors, playing an instrumental role in its formative years. Dr. Franklin earned his medical degree from Tulane in 1976 and completed his residency at Tulane University and Charity Hospital in 1979, achieving board certification in internal medicine that same year.
Patti Ellish
Patti is President of Christwood and a member of the Executive and Finance Committees. Before retiring as St. Tammany Parish Hospital president and CEO, Patti transformed a small community hospital into a thriving regional medical center. She’s earned regional and national recognition for healthcare leadership and is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives, past chair of Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans, board member of Louisiana Hospital Association and Northshore Healthcare Alliance, and member of Northshore Business Council and Women’s Leadership Council of Greater New Orleans. Patti is married with two children and one grandchild, and lives in Covington.
Frances “Fran” M. Phares, JD, MPS/MSC, LPC
Fran has been in full-time legal practice since 1981 with special focus on toxic torts and pharmaceutical injuries. She holds dual master’s degrees in pastoral studies and counseling from Loyola University, New Orleans, with an emphasis on older adult mental wellness. She serves on the boards of Christwood Foundation, Solomon Episcopal Conference Center, and Bethany Presbyterian Church and Cemetery Foundation. Fran is a Lay Pastoral Minister at Christ Episcopal Church where she sings in the choir, serves on the Endowment Committee, and co-facilitates a women’s spirituality group. She has three adult children and two grandchildren and enjoys traveling the world.
Charles “Charlie” Goodyear
Charles “Charlie” Goodyear moved to Christwood with his wife, Linda, in 2020 following his retirement from ExxonMobil, where his career spanned more than 40 years, mostly in retail marketing. He also served as a board member of the International Federation of Multiple Sclerosis Societies (IFMSS)-London from 1985-2000 and on the Board of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society from 1995-2005. After graduating from Yale University with an economics degree, Charlie served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant (First Armored Division).
Chavgney “Chav” Pierce
As Director-in-Charge of Tax Services, Chav leads a team of over 60 professionals providing a wide range of compliance and consultative tax services. He has extensive knowledge in tax accounting with a focus on real estate transactions. His experience includes valuing real estate businesses for the various purposes of financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, estate and gift planning, marital dissolutions, shareholder disputes, and buy/sell agreements. Chav is a member of several professional and civic organizations including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Forensic and Valuation Services Section, the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, and the New Orleans Estate Planning Council.
Kerry K. Milton, RN, MSHA
Kerry is the senior vice president/chief nursing officer of St. Tammany Health Systems. After launching her career as a medicine and oncology nurse at East Jefferson General Hospital, she joined St. Tammany Health System as a telemetry registered nurse. Through bachelor’s and master’s degrees and successive promotions in nursing management, Kerry built her executive career on patient care and sound management principles. Kerry is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, VHA Gulf States Nurse Executive Group, Women’s Healthcare Executive Network, and Louisiana Organization of Nurse Executives.
M. Todd Richard
M. Todd Richard is a retired insurance executive. Following graduation from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration/Risk & Insurance in 1985, he worked as a broker at Lloyd’s of London. Upon returning to his native Louisiana, he joined FARA Insurance, was named CEO, and grew the Mandeville-based organization to 23 locations across the country employing 500+ team members. He sold FARA in 2011 and retired the next year after a successful business transition.
Todd is active in the community and has served on several boards including The Northshore Community Foundation (Chairman), St. Paul’s School Board of Trustees (Chairman), Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board (Public Board Member), St. Tammany Parish Planning and Zoning Commissioner (Vice Chair), Habitat for Humanity St. Tammany West, St. Tammany Recreation District 1 (Commissioner), St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce (Vice Chair Public Policy), and the Safe Haven Foundation
James H. “Jimmy” Rogers
Prior to his retirement in 2017, Jimmy served as a senior vice president and commercial loan officer with First NBC Bank based in Mandeville. He has enjoyed a 34-year record of success in commercial and retail banking and management in South Louisiana and especially in St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, and Washington Parishes. Active in the community throughout his career, in 2007, Jimmy was awarded the Community Leadership Award — West St. Tammany Chamber’s highest award.
